The Black Dahlia Movie Story - Synopsis. Set in the 40s in LA. Two policemen, Bleichert (Josh Hartnett ) and his partner, Blanchard (Aaron Eckhart), investigate the death of a young woman called Elizabeth Short, found murdered. Buck soon realizes that his girlfriend had connections to the murdered young woman, and soon after that, he start uncovering a conspiracy within the LAPD. Brian De Palma, known for movies as The Untouchables and Scarfaceis directing this movie. The movie is a fictionalized tale of greed and depravity, obsession, love and corruption, around the true story of a murder of a Hollywood starlet that shocked the nation in 1947 and remains unsolved up till now. Two ex cops, are called to investigate the homicide of ambitious actress Betty Ann Short (Mia Kirshner) known as The Black Dahlia, a murder so cruel that photographs of the killing were kept from the public. While the growing preoccupation of Blanchard with the sensational murder undermines his marriage to Kay (Scarlett Johansson), his partner finds himself attracted to Madeleine Linscott (Hilary Swank) who happens to have a connection to the murder victim. |
