Friends With Money Movie Story - Synopsis. Four friends for life, who have reached a level of comfort in their lives and have now settled into a life of designer clothes, charity events, and caring for the men and children in their lives. But as they approach old age things are starting to throw their lives in a state of constant flux. Friends with Money is written by director Nicole Holofcener. Olivia (Aniston) is reaching a personal crisis and quit her teaching job and is now cleaning houses. Jane and Aaron (McDormand and McBurney) are designers whose marriage has reached a point of reflection. Christine (Keener) and her husband Patrick (Isaacs) are a screenwriting couple whose latest project raise a certain tension at home. Franny (Cusack) and Matt (Stephenson) are the wealthy ones, raising their two lkids amidst an abundant lifestyle.
